Every skill needs a blog
A skill that doesn’t improve over time isn’t really a skill, it’s a static capability. The difference is whether it grows better the more you use it, whether it becomes part of you and your toolkit rather than something you reach for until you don’t.
How? Your skill needs memory. A log, a blog, something that documents how you used it and what you learned. Reflection. Trying things out. Noting what worked. What didn’t work.
A different type of reward
And the best thing about it is how this feels rewarding in a different way. It’s not just the slot-machine hit at the moment of delivery. It’s also the feeling of looking back and seeing the evolution, seeing how you improved, and knowing you had a hand in that.
Just try telling the skill you use every day to keep a log of itself in a simple HTML blog style, and check in on it now and then. You’re not just getting things done anymore. You’re watching yourself get better at them.
